An 800-acre ranch in Bandera County is on the market for $16 million.
The property is called Skull Creek Ranch and is being listed by West and Swope Ranches. Just shy of 10,000 square feet, the main home on the property was designed by San Antonio-based Overland Partners and overlooks a 10-acre lake on the property. The home includes 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and 2 half-baths. According to the architect's website, interior features include post oak wood flooring, locally quarried limestone, and exposed concrete lintels inspired by the homes built by Texas' German settlers.
The home includes a kitchen with Viking appliances, open concept living spaces, and a primary suite with a private balcony.
The property also includes outdoor amenities such as a 120-square-foot pool and a hot tub. A covered second-floor terrace overlooks the property, as well.
Wildlife at the property includes whitetail deer, blackbuck, aoudad, sika, fallow and red deer. The lakes and ponds are stocked with fish and attract waterfowl.
Skull Creek Ranch is a fully operational ranch with a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom foreman's home, barn and a deer breeding facility. The property also includes water resources, including a live water creek, stocked ponds and a water supply from three wells.
"Skull Creek Ranch embodies all the elements that you dream of when painting a picture of the ideal iconic Hill Country ranch—a pristine live water creek winding through rolling hills, leading to a breathtaking lake crowned by a stunning architectural estate that commands panoramic views of the valley and water below. Properties like this are very seldom to come by these days," said Louie Swope, a broker-owner of West and Swope Ranches who is brokering the property.
"In my 30 years of selling ranches, it's known that there are five features that make a piece of land more attractive to a buyer: scenic views, water features, topography, wooded area, and rich soil. It’s rare you find a place that has all five like this," said Mitch West, who is also broker-owner of West and Swope Ranches and brokering the property.
