The peace and quiet of the Texas Hill Country is enough to get anyone to move to the region. One historic ranch is offering the same Hill Country lifestyle with some resort perks.
Y.O. Ranch Headquarters in Kerr County is selling 25 tracts of land that range from 101 acres to 174 acres, according to a listing from broker Louie Swope from West and Swope Ranches. The price per tract varies from $1.1 million to $1.9 million. Tract 6 is the largest at 174 acres for $1.9 million.
"The Y.O. Ranch Headquarters tracts gives buyers the opportunity to experience the legacy and history of this iconic Texas ranch for generations to come," Swope said to MySA in an email. With great views, manageable sizes, and access to top-notch amenities, these tracts are perfect for those seeking a balance of adventure and luxury in their rural lifestyle."
The ranch is roughly an hour from Kerrville. New tract owners will have access to the Y.O. Ranch Headquarters with property owners association amenities. Owners can enjoy discounted guided hunts, wildlife tours and education, five stand/sporting clays, rifle range, ATV courses, swimming pools, tennis courts, pickleball courts, petting zoo, and adventure camps, according to the listing.
The ranch also holds weddings, business retreats, family reunions, exotic game sales, and live concerts, according to the listing. The ranch has both native and exotic animals on the property, including buffalo, red sheep, bison, turkey, zebra, yak, and more.
Y.O. Ranch Headquarters was acquired in 1880 by Texas Ranger Captain Charles A. Schreiner. He purchased the brand and cattle using profits from driving over 300,000 longhorns from Texas to Dodge City, the listing states. The ranch is also known as "America's Original Game Ranch."
