Bill's upbringing was shaped by the landscapes of Texas. He grew up at Rio Vista Farms in West Bexar County, alongside his five brothers, which laid the foundation for a childhood filled with cherished memories and knowledge. Summers were spent at his grandparents' ranch in George West, as well as his cousins' ranches in Marfa and Alpine, Texas. These rural retreats instilled in him a strong sense of family heritage and agriculture. 

Upon completion from the University of Texas, Bill embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, establishing West & Company in 1976. The company went on to be recognized as one of North America's leading livestock advertising and horse and cattle photography firms. West & Company's esteemed clientele encompassed renowned entities such as Hudson Pines Farm, Rio Vista International, McCombs Ranches, The YO and Wentz Farming Co. 

In 1990, Bill founded Taylor West, a full-service commercial ad agency. As the CEO of Taylor West for over three decades, Bill led the company to significant success, with combined billings surpassing $250 million. Notable among Taylor West's clientele were IBC Bank, Boot Ranch, Sontera, Briggs Ranch, South Padre Island, Texace, Valero Energy, Tesoro Petroleum and the Valencia Hotel Group.

Bill also had the pleasure to serve on the board of the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, providing invaluable insights and contributions to preserve the rich heritage of Texas. Additionally, his involvement on  the advisory board of the Great Springs Project and the US Olympic Festival showcases his commitment to community and sports.

His achievements in the business realm were recognized when he became the first recipient of the Trinity University Small Business Person of the Year award in 2014, a testament to his entrepreneurial background. 

Alongside his professional career, Bill cherishes a fulfilling personal life. Bill has been married to his wife, Scarlette, for 47 years. Together, they are blessed with two children, their son Taylor, and daughter Liza, whom both reside in New York City. The family's joy extends with their five grandchildren.
